Governor's Race Updates (Finally)

We know we have been slacking off a bit, but starting now, this is going to be a busy blog again.

The Globe had two interesting--and important--stories on the Governor's race.

The first is that Christy Mihos has announced he will run for governor as an independant. This is good news for the Patrick and Reilly campaigns, as Healey will surely be hurt by Mihos attacking her from the right. Mihos is extremely wealthy, and by spending it on TV time--he's already hired a firm to produce ads--he may affect the election more by changing the public's perception of the candidates, than he will by garnering votes. If this is case, then Democrats can only hope he spends his efforts attacking Healey and not our candidates.

If you don't believe me, just look how happy Deval looks now that Mihos is in the race (and on his left):

The second piece of good news is that the Globe reports Deval again had a successful month of fundraising. Deval's $305,000 in February beat Tom Reilly by $55,000, though Reilly still has a bankroll of $3.9M to Deval's $800,000. Plus Reilly's got lots of experience and grew up on a farm, he thought you might be curious.
